The Ice Thermal Storage (ITS) system, integrated with solar energy utilization, has been implemented for energy management in cooling operations at the near-zero carbon building “The Blocks” located within the Mae Moh Power Plant (egat-its.altotechglobal.com).

This system serves as a model for enhancing the efficiency of air-conditioning and cooling technologies. The system features a dashboard interface that provides a comprehensive visualization of the interconnection of all cooling devices within the project. It displays real-time equipment operating statuses, as well as detailed operational parameters of the Ice Thermal Storage units and chillers, thereby facilitating continuous monitoring of system performance. The dashboard offers two modes of presentation:

• Dashboard for monitoring and operational control – supporting real-time supervision and system management.

• Simplified dashboard for public outreach – designed to provide visitors with an overview of the Ice Thermal Storage cooling system.

In addition, the system is capable of displaying and analyzing both indoor and outdoor air temperature data. It is fully integrated with a Programmable Logic Control (PLC) system to ensure accurate operation of the Ice Thermal Storage system. Furthermore, it can interface seamlessly with the ERDI Smart Meter for automated electricity consumption monitoring and with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, thereby ensuring comprehensive and precise energy management.
