Transverse Profile Logger (TPL) is a vehicle-mounted system for measuring the transverse profile of pavement surfaces. It collects Transverse Profile data for analyzing Rut Depth.

ROMDAS TPL is a module that can be integrated with a road survey system and does not require a dedicated vehicle.

The Laser version of the TPL system uses Single-Point Laser Sensors to measure pavement surface elevation across the transverse direction. According to the manufacturer’s documentation, configurations with 15 or 9 sensors are available, with other configurations available according to project requirements.

Data Collection and Analysis

Transverse Profile
Collects transverse pavement profile data to represent the elevation and shape of the pavement surface throughout the surveyed section. The data can be used to analyze pavement deformation and changes in the transverse profile.

Rut Depth
Analyzes Rut Depth from Transverse Profile data using a simulated 2 m straight-edge method, based on the operating principle specified in the manufacturer’s documentation.
