iNFRA Provides GPR Survey Services for MEA’s Underground

iNFRA Provides GPR Survey Services to Support MEA’s Underground Infrastructure Inspection

Inspecting subsurface conditions beneath roads and sidewalks is an important part of maintaining infrastructure safety. Particular attention is required around underground electrical cable manholes, where cavities or other subsurface anomalies may affect road stability.

iNFRA provides underground infrastructure survey services using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology and specialized survey equipment to support the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) in inspecting potential cavities beneath road surfaces and sidewalks around underground electrical cable manholes. The survey covers 300 manholes in Samut Prakan and along related routes.

GPR uses radar signals to investigate subsurface conditions, helping detect buried objects and materials and identify anomalies that may be associated with underground cavities. Survey paths are planned to cover the areas surrounding manholes and run parallel to traffic directions, in accordance with the established survey plan. This approach provides information for subsurface assessment without requiring continuous pavement excavation along the survey area.

The survey covers key routes, including Rama III Road, Ratchadaphisek Road, Phetchaburi Road, Rama IX Road, and corridors along the Green and Purple MRT lines. The objective is to support the assessment of underground cavity risks, improve public safety, and contribute to more effective management of underground electrical infrastructure.

With specialized survey technologies and equipment, iNFRA provides infrastructure survey services to public- and private-sector organizations, supporting data collection, inspection, and effective infrastructure management.
