iNFRA Provides UAV and GNSS RTK Seagrass Surveys for Ecosystem Analysis and Restoration

iNFRA Provides UAV and Geospatial Technology for Seagrass Surveys to Support Marine Ecosystem Conservation and Restoration

iNFRA provides seagrass survey and data collection services using UAV (Drone Survey), GNSS RTK, satellite imagery, and ground truth data to develop high-resolution and systematic spatial information. The data can be used for analysis, monitoring changes, and planning seagrass habitat restoration.

Effective marine resource management requires accurate and up-to-date spatial information. Seagrass habitats are particularly important to marine ecosystems, serving as food sources and nursery grounds for aquatic species while also contributing to the ecological balance of coastal environments.

Our survey services integrate data from multiple technologies to provide comprehensive spatial information for both site-specific and ecosystem-level analysis, including:

  • UAV / Drone Survey – High-resolution aerial surveys covering coastal areas and seagrass habitats.
  • GNSS RTK Survey – Surveying and measuring Ground Control Points (GCPs) to improve the positional accuracy of spatial data.
  • Satellite Imagery – Utilizing various types of satellite imagery and spectral bands to analyze large-scale areas.
  • Ground Truth Data – Collecting field data such as seagrass density, sediment characteristics, water quality, and other relevant environmental factors.
  • GIS & Spatial Data – Developing and managing spatial datasets in formats that can be analyzed and integrated with GIS platforms.

The survey data is not limited to map production. It can also be developed into databases and analytical systems to support marine resource management, including:

  1. Monitoring Changes in Seagrass Habitats

Comparing data collected at different time periods to identify areas of change, degradation, or potential recovery.

  2. AI-Based Seagrass Analysis and Classification

Integrating satellite imagery, UAV imagery, and field data with AI and Machine Learning to support the classification of seagrass boundaries and habitat conditions.

  3. Assessing Suitable Areas for Restoration

Combining environmental and field data to identify areas with potential for seagrass planting or habitat restoration.

  4. Developing Spatial Databases for Organizations

Integrating Point, Line, and Polygon data, aerial imagery, satellite imagery, and time-series data into a centralized database for use with GIS and other related systems.

  5. Supporting Planning and Decision-Making

Surveyed and analyzed data can serve as a basis for conservation planning, habitat restoration, monitoring, and long-term marine resource management.

Integrating UAV Survey + GNSS RTK + Satellite Imagery + Ground Truth + GIS + AI transforms real-world field data into actionable spatial information. This enables applications ranging from surveying and mapping to change detection and the assessment of areas with potential for seagrass restoration.

iNFRA applies surveying technologies and spatial data to infrastructure, natural resources, and environmental projects, supporting data-driven area management based on accurate and practical information.
