KMUTT and Infra Plus Sign MOU to Advance AI and Digital Technology

On August 21, 2026, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and Infra Plus Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on academic and research collaboration to jointly promote and develop research, innovation, and technology for the country’s infrastructure. The collaboration focuses on three key areas: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Traffic Engineering, and Digital Technology.

The collaboration aims to connect academic knowledge with industry experience and real-world needs, while translating research into practical applications for more efficient infrastructure, transportation, and traffic management.

The MOU covers Collaborative Research, technology development and testing, Knowledge Transfer, as well as the development of personnel, researchers, and students. The goal is to create knowledge and innovations that can be further applied across industry and society.

Key areas of collaboration include:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI): Developing Machine Learning and Deep Learning technologies for traffic data analysis, vehicle detection and classification, CCTV image and video analysis, traffic and accident forecasting, and decision-support systems for traffic management.
  • Traffic Engineering: Conducting traffic surveys and analysis, evaluating traffic signal control systems, analyzing Road Network Level of Service, and developing Traffic Simulation models.
  • Digital Technology: Developing Infrastructure Management Platforms, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Digital Twins, and Smart Monitoring systems using IoT Sensors, as well as integrating data from multiple sources for in-depth analysis.

The collaboration between KMUTT and Infra Plus aims to transform research knowledge into practical applications by supporting the development of prototypes, products, and infrastructure solutions that can create value for industry and society.

The partnership also promotes the exchange of experts, researchers, and students, along with training programs, seminars, and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance professional capabilities and provide experience based on real-world challenges.
